ELECTION OF OFFICERS-RESULTS.
At the October 21, 2012 Meeting, held at the Butler County Communications
Center, in Butler, PA, an election was held to fill the positions
of Vice Chairman and Secretary , as is required by the
W.P.R.C. Constituion. The following were elected to serve on the
W.P.R.C. Board of Directors, for a period of two years, was James
Knox N5NWC as Vice Chairman, and Thomas Brew K3WS as Secretary.
It was found, and announced at the October 21st meeting, that
Chairman Phil Heck KE3EI did not have a current amateur radio
license as is required by the WPRC Constituion. Thus his position
is vacant. The position of Chairman is to be filled, by election,
at the next W.P.R.C. regular meeting in January. Treasurer Charles
Gessner W3ON continues on as Treasurer, as his term does not expire
until the October 2013 meeting.

At the January 20th meeting of the
W.P.R.C., held in Washington PA, a list was announced of repeater
systems who have not returned the W.P.R.C. Frequency Coordination
Surveys. There have been two official, and one unoffiicial, set
of surveys sent to each and every repeater system who hold frequency
coordinaiton issued by the W.P.R.C. There have been various excuses
given, including: "I did not receive any of the surveys".
"I returned the surveys to the previous frequency coordinator
twice. Its your problem to find my surveys as I am not going to
send them again.". "My dog ate my surveys". "I
have changed trustees, go bother the new trustee". "I
have been operating a coordinated repeater for years and years.
Why do I have to resend this information? Quit bothering me."
None of these excuses is relevant. We had one trustee state that
he sent in his request to change the trusteeship from one trustee
to another in 2003, but did not receive a reply from the W.P.R.C.
Well, hmm. If he had checked both the "ARRL Repeater Directory"
and our online repeater directory over a ten year span he would
have seen that the information was not up to date. As trustees
it is your responsibility to notify W.P.R.C. of any changes
in frequency coordination. That includes trustee changes. The frequency
coordinator has bent over backwards trying to help all who need
help with the surveys. Some help was very successful, while other
help was partially or totally ignored. He has even accepted the
returned surveys via email attachment sent to our W.P.R.C. email
address WPRC EMAIL If
you have not yet returned your survey's, you run the real risk
of decoordination for failure to respond to your survey or surveys.
The frequency coordinator, with the agreement of the membership
at the January 20th meeting, agreed to wait awhile longer. As
late as June 20th before finally giving up. You can
find this list in the "January 20,
2013 Meeting Notes" found on the "Meeting Notes"
web page.
So, its time to get your end of
the project finished. If you find your repeater system listed
in the January 20th notes then you run the real risk of decoordination.
If you simply forgot to return the survey, then please get after
it as soon as possible. Time is running out. All surveys should
be sent to our Wexford address at:
W.P.R.C.
3000 Village Run Road
Unit 103 #173
Wexford, Pa 15090-9244
